Definately becoming the hallmark of an AVB team now...midfield packed with strength, mobility, pace and skill...another good signing i think, very consistent ratings from last year and again improves the squad vs Livermore (sorry Chris) & Huddlestone/Parker

Wow! It's been a transfer window like no other and AVB is hinting at more signings to come. I think the signings so far could mitigate the possible loss of Bale. Meanwhile, it's sad to see Hudd go but we have to offload a few more. Bentley and Naughton, for example.

 
As said from the beginning, I think Bale is going nowhere this season.

Whether at some point there were plans to offload him for big money, or he wanted to leave (or not), Spurs would not sell him cheap and Real Madrid don't have that kind of money to blow on one player. In addition, I believe that Bale is tied to TV and sponsor contracts that need to see him in an English Premiership kit for 2013-2014.

I agree, it is not cut and dried on Bale leaving as I don't think the terms will be sorted out, but I hope it doesn't drag onto 2nd Sept in which he will possibly avoid playing up until then, ala Modric 2 seasons ago which upset the balance of pre-season development and momentum into the first couple of games. We definately could do with a fast start this year and state our intent on the rest of the PL.
Interestingly on the image rights, in July Bale had lodged the 'Eleven of hearts' logo as a trademark similar to Becks & Ronaldo and RM have had to reserve the no.11 shirt this year in case he signs.

 The latest is Willian has agreed to join, and Lamela is coming too.

Seems that Bale is leaving.
