Apparently Bale is going to be named as part of the squad competing in the Europa League (which has to be named before the game tomorrow). If Bale plays football in this competition, he would not be eligable to play for Real Madrid (if sold to them) in the CL this season.

We are now being linked with the Brazilian Hulk from St. Petersburg.
It's a striker and has a good rep, but they are asking us for 40 Mil, and we're prepared to pay around 20 something Mil. Let's see what happens?

Looks like in addition to Lamela being announced today, they will also announce the signing of the defender Vlad Chiriches.
A striker and a defender were what we were looking for as our last remianing purchases yes?

Lamela is not a striker. More of Number 10 or creative player coming off the wing.
If we sign Eriksen too (a proper playmaker), as has been rumoured, we'd be nailed on for Top 4.
If we added Coentrao (Rose is not a top-class left back) and Chicharito from Man Utd (although they will never sell him to us), I'd say we'd be on for the title.
